9.00am Ardmore Nurseries, 230 Clevedon - Takanini Road, Clevedon. Wholesale Nursery, tour 16ha field grown & potted plants & “Propagation Workshop” Topic to be advised
11.00 am – Beaumont Nurseries, 84 Clevedon – Takanini Road, Clevedon. Morning Tea & tour 12ha field grown & potted plants & “Propagation Workshop”- Topic to be advised
12.00pm Lunch – at Ciao Bella at own cost
1.30pm Black Bridge Nursery – Papakura – Main Lines - Decidous trees
3.15pm – Heroic Garden – Afternoon Tea. Lynda Hallinan’s country garden has an equestrian arena converted into a self-sufficient, organic vegetable garden, pretty potting sheds, heirloom fruit trees, a wild flower meadow, giant sun flowers, herbs, roses and pet pigs and chooks. Plus a specialist plant market and a pop-up barn café serving delicious Devonshire teas.
5.00 pm Joy Plants – Wholesale & Retail Nursery, 2-3ha, main lines – natives, woodland & border perennials, specialists in wetland plants.
6.00pm Dinner – BBQ at Joy Plants Hosted by Hatch Clan, Not to be missed social night, own cost $26.00 per person, BYO Beverages .
Rotoroa Island Tour
7.00 am meet at BK Counties Motor Lodge carpark
Rotoroa Island Ferry Auckland 8.45am returning Rotoroa 5.15pm (weather dependant). Take a 75-minute journey across the Hauraki Gulf aboard the Rotoroa Island ferry. explore the island’s arts, history and conservation park, including sandy shoreline, hiking trails and an award-winning museum. Opened to the public in 2011, Rotoroa Island was the longtime home to an addiction treatment center run by the Salvation Army. Visit the heritage buildings and a Rotoroa wildlife sanctuary for endangered New Zealand species. IPPS member & Rotoroa’s Assisting Ranger - Andrew Malloy will be our Guide. BBQ lunch will be provided & snacks and water will be available, bring your togs – there are some very nice swimming beaches on the island.
6.40pm Dinner – local city restaurant – fish and chips
8.30 pm – Return to BK Counties Inn
9.00am Optional – meet for breakfast- own cost.
