IPPS Rebrand Vote Passed!

Welcoming the International Plant Production Society

The International Plant Propagators’ Society has reached an exciting milestone with the recent passage of the rebrand vote. Six out of seven regions voted in favor of adopting the new name, marking the dawn of a new era for the organization. Moving forward, IPPS will be promoted as the International Plant Production Society (IPPS).

The Vision Behind the Name Refresh

The transformation from the “International Plant Propagators’ Society” to the “International Plant Production Society” reflects a significant evolution in the organizations mission and vision. This name change is more than cosmetic; it underscores the society’s commitment to a broader and more inclusive scope, encompassing all facets of plant production.

The term “production” highlights the entire lifecycle of plants, from propagation and cultivation to harvest and beyond. It embraces the interconnected processes that support sustainable and efficient plant management, allowing the society to maintain itself as a leader in addressing challenges in plant production.

Ideally, this expanded vision would attract a wider membership and sponsorship base to strengthen the IPPS community in seeking and sharing.

Next Steps

The International Plant Production Society invites everyone to join in celebrating this momentous change. This rebrand opens new opportunities for marketing, sponsorship, and collaboration, all of which are critical to supporting the society’s mission. Together, we will continue to inspire and lead the way in advancing the science and practice of plant production worldwide.
