Kim Shearer is the Curator of Collections and Manager of New Plant Development at The Morton Arboretum. At the Arboretum, Shearer oversees the development of the living plant collections and flowering shrub trials; selects and evaluates new plants for the urban and suburban landscapes; and develops and executes woody plant breeding objectives. Shearer received her Bachelor's of Sciences in Horticulture Science and Plant Biology from North Carolina State University, and her Master's of Science in Horticulture with a focus in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Oregon State University.
